Rockslide on NH-29 damages 2 dumper trucks, affects traffic

Dimapur, Sep. 15 (EMN): A rockslide on National Highway- 29 (NH-29) at the ongoing four-lane construction site near Chümoukedima check post in Dimapur, has damaged two dumper trucks and affected the vehicle movement.

The officer in-charge of traffic Inspector, Peter Shurya, informed Eastern Mirror that they received the formation about the rockslide at around 4:10 pm on Tuesday.

Shurya informed that a rockslide had happened in the same area on September 7. However, there was no casualty was reported in Tuesday’s incident.

The police officer informed that one way traffic has been restored at the affected site for the moment but it could happen again due to the ongoing road construction works. He went on to say that road clearance work is still
going on.
