With a view to further expand the e-services under the taxes department for better public service delivery, all Road Permits (RP) will be mandatorily issued online w.e.f. 26th January, 2016.
Informing this in a press note, Commissioner of Taxes said, the road permit will be issued for the purpose of importing goods into the state for personal use/consumption, use in setting up of an industrial unit, use as raw materials directly in the manufacture of goods in industrial unit, use in the operation of industrial unit, or others which have to be compulsorily specified by the applicant.

Any person desiring to avail the e-Road Permit can apply in Form-I through the department’s web portal www.nagalandtax.nic.in. On submission of the application, an Acknowledgement No will be generated by the system which will be used for future reference. On approval, Road Permit 9 Form-II) will be generated by the system bearing a 16 character unique No. which the applicant can print out in triplicate. The Acknowledgement No. and the Road Permit No. will be automatically communicated by SMS also to the applicant. Tax authorities will verify the Road Permit (RP) at any point while in transit.
