Dimapur, Nov. 12 (EMN): Contractors working on a highway in Mokokchung have been urged to ‘stick’ to ‘high quality raw materials as per the specification,’ for a highway in the district.
The executive engineer of the Public Works Department (NH), Mokokchung division, and his subordinates, among others, are said to have visited on Nov. 11 the ‘ongoing road repairing works’ being carried out on National Highway 702 D.
A group called the ‘Mokokchung to Marani Roadside Villagers Concern Forum’ issued a press release on Sunday offering the updates.
During the visit of the officials, the contractors and the department were told to stick to the ‘high quality raw materials as per the specification,’ according to the press release from the forum. The contractors and the department were urged to “speed up the work as the people have been suffering for a very long time and moreover the festive season is approaching.”
According to the press release from said forum, the ‘contractors assured the inspection team that water bound macadam (BMW) of the whole stretch will be completed by December 2017, black topping of 0 km to 10 kms by December 2017, and the block topping of the entire course by April 2018.’
