[dropcap]H[/dropcap]ome Minister, Y. Patton graced the Golden Jubilee celebration of Yikhum Student’s Union on December 19 at Yikhum village, Wokha as the chief guest.
Greeting the gathering on the second day of the celebration, the chief guest urged the student’s to work hard and have strong determination to rise up to the top, as students are the leaders of tomorrow.
He also expressed hope that through the YSU jubilee celebration, not only the students’ community but the entire village populace will witness peace and prosperity in the coming days and assured to extend all possible help from his end for the welfare of the student’s community.
Theme speaker, Advocate Guahati High Court-Kohima Bench, R. N Lotha, who spoke on the theme “Walk on a New Path to Touch New Horizons”, called upon the student’s to choose their right path and decide to continuously walk the path till they succeed, and added, “Once you so decide, it is a giant leap even as you are still walking’.

He also said, “let us be reminded that in all these years, our horizon seems not too broaden. We must learn day by day, year by year to broaden our horizon, yet we are leaking behind in rigors of our walk.’ On this day of Golden Jubilee, as we held high hope, belief and in conviction that there is a better life, a better world ahead of us beyond the horizon, let us pledge to start walking the new path to touch new horizon from today, he maintained.
The Home Minister also unveiled the Jubilee Memorial stone, while dedication prayer was offered by Rev. Achumo Kithan, Home Missionary, Wokha Town Baptist Church.
