The Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Neiphiu Rio today had a meeting with officials of the BSNL led by Senior GM P. K. Shikder at the residence of the MP in Dimapur. The BSNL officials briefed the MP on the progress of developmental works in Nagaland and the initiatives being undertaken for improvement of connectivity in the State. They also highlighted some of the problems being faced by the BSNL.
The MP urged the BSNL officials to make every possible effort to improve connectivity and also focus on providing quality internet services all over the State especially in the far flung areas like dependable broadband connections and reliable 3G networks.
Rio was of the view that as the main service provider, BSNL must provide consistent services to its consumers as telecom connectivity and Internet services were crucial for development and progress. He urged the officials to keep him updated on relevant matters so that he can take up any problem and concern of the State and the region with the Government of India and the relevant ministries.
