Dimapur, April 15 (EMN): A thanksgiving service of the ‘Nagaland legislators Christian fellowship’ was held at the State Banquet Hall on April 15, according to a DIPR report.
Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio in his greetings stated that it is a privilege given by God and people to run the affairs of the state. Conversely all the legislators have ‘huge responsibilities’ towards God and the people, he said.
“He hoped that God will lead and guide the legislators to do the right thing and also assured their commitment to serve the people for the betterment of the society. He called on the support of not only the elected members to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly but also the support of the bureaucrats, technocrats, tribal hohos, civil societies and churches in order to deliver the promises made to people. We have to be humble and close to God and work through his guidance,” the report quoted the chief minister as saying during the service.
Rev. Rachulie Vihienuo delivered a message from the Bible. He encouraged the legislators to be tolerant of one another and to be just in their work. “Rev. Vihienuo hoped that the dawn of a new era that the people of the State were waiting for begin with newly elected legislators,” the report read.
“The service was chaired by state chaplin, Rev. Kuzierang Thou. Minister, CM Chang proposed the invocation prayer while Minister, Paiwang Konyak read the scriptures from the Bible. Special song was presented by wives and children of the legislators and Ameu and her choir,” it further informed.
