Kohima, Dec. 2 (EMN): A Tenyidie romance novel titled ‘A Nei Kezivi - 2’ (My fiancée’s beauty) authored by Neisevituo Sorhie was released by Neiphiu Rio, MP Lok Sabha, on December 2 at Capital Convention Centre, New Secretariat Complex, Kohima.
The novel ‘A Nei Kezivi – 2,’ a sequel of the first book ‘A Nei Kezivi’ published in the year 1996, is a story about a young man and woman – civil service exam aspirants who fell in love, said the author, Sorhie.
Sorhie said his primary objective is to let the younger generation learn how to better read and understand Tenyidie through a fiction love story, which depicts the lives of the present day generation.
Observing that the youths of today could hardly speak a correct sentence in their own mother tongue, the author hopes that this book would be a medium for learning Tenyidie.
Speaking as the chief guest, Rio congratulated the author for coming out with the sequel of his book and appreciated his creativity, discipline and passion for writing.
Also observing with the pain that ‘we’ have sidelined the importance of learning our own mother-tongue by focusing too much on learning English - the universal language, he emphasised on the need to retract and learn our own local dialects by giving importance and respecting the same.
Rio expressed hope that the author will continue to write and produce more of such books in the near future.
In his introductory speech, Prof. D. Kuolie, secretary general Ura Academy said the sequel was published on public demand, wherein the readers wanted to see the main characters of the story to settle down. The pre-sequel book, he said was very popular among the young readers which sold like hotcakes.
While appreciating the author for his imaginative and farsighted thoughts, Kuolie said the Academy would like to see more writers in the future.
The book release programme organised by the Classic Club Kohima started with a dedicatory offered by Vizovolie Sorhie, assistant pastor, Central Christian Revival Church, Dimapur.
