DIMAPUR — Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton, and the Naga People’s Front (NPF) have congratulated Daochier I Imchen on his victory in the 28 Koridang Assembly by-election.
In a message shared on social media, Rio congratulated the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) consensus candidate, stating that the mandate reflects the people’s confidence in the alliance’s shared vision.
He expressed gratitude to the electorate for reposing faith in the PDA coalition and acknowledged the efforts of party workers for their dedication and hard work.
Meanwhile, the NPF also extended its congratulations, terming Imchen’s victory “thumping” and significant.

In a press release, the party stated that the decisive mandate reflects the people’s trust in Imchen’s leadership, the PDA’s vision for development, and the collective commitment to peace and progress.
It described the win as a testament to grassroots connect, hard work, and the faith reposed by the electorate of Koridang, while assuring cooperation in matters of public interest and development.
Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton, who is also the BJP Legislature Party leader, expressed gratitude to voters across the country for their continued support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies in recent state elections and by-elections.
Referring to electoral wins in Assam and West Bengal, Patton described them as a matter of pride for BJP and its workers.
He congratulated state leaders and the central leadership for guiding the campaigns, and credited grassroots engagement, responsiveness to local concerns and the dedication of karyakartas for the results.
Patton also conveyed special thanks to the people of Koridang for electing Daochier, stating that the mandate reflects confidence in both the candidate and the collective leadership of the state. He said that the responsibility entrusted by the people would be carried with sincerity and accountability.
He further appreciated Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for extending full support to the campaign and maintaining coordination within the alliance, and thanked the people of Nagaland for their continued support to the PDA.
He also acknowledged the role of BJP Nagaland leaders, alliance partners, legislators and party workers in ensuring the success of the campaign.
Underlining unity within the alliance, Patton said that the coming together of BJP and NPF legislators in support of the PDA consensus candidate has strengthened the alliance and its work in the state.
