Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio mourns former Speaker ET Ezung, remembering his public service and contribution to the Naga political issue
DIMAPUR — Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has mourned the demise of former Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker and Cabinet Minister ET Ezung, describing his death as a great loss to the Lotha community and the Naga people.
In a condolence message issued on Thursday, Rio said Ezung was a dedicated leader whose long service to the people of Nagaland and contributions to public life would be remembered with respect.
He also recalled Ezung’s role in the Joint Legislators Forum (JLF), through which elected representatives across party lines came together to support efforts towards a peaceful and honourable resolution of the Naga political issue.
Rio said Ezung’s demise had left a vacuum that would be difficult to fill, and extended condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of himself and his family.
