Rio mourns

Dimapur, Sep. 14 (EMN): Member of Parliament (LS), Neiphiu Rio has expressed shock and sadness over the demise of former Minister, N Yeangphong Konyak, on Tuesday at private nursing home in Kohima. In a condolence message, Rio stated that Konyak was a friend and good colleague who was appointed as Minister for Transport and Communication and Village Guards in the DAN-I ministry under his Chief Ministership. During his tenure as Minister, Rio said he demonstrated able qualities befitting that of a true leader. Having represented the people of 41 Tizit Assembly Constituency four times, he worked tirelessly for the uplift of his people and the Naga society, the message added. In his demise, we have lost a good soul and a dynamic leader whose absence will be felt tremendously, Rio lamented. Rio along with his wife and family conveyed deepest condolences to the members of the bereaved family and pray that the Almighty God comfort them through this hour of grief by bestowing his divine love and grace upon each and also for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
