Kohima, Nov. 21 (EMN): In an another move towards achieving digital governance, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has officially launched the ‘nagaland.my.gov’ platform at Nagaland House, New Delhi on November 20.
After launching the platform, the chief minister had tweeted: “Launched nagaland.mygov.in. This citizen engagement platform is an innovative way to build partnership between citizens and government; resulting in development and good governance.”
The chief secretary also took to Twitter, “With the launch of nagaland.my.gov, a platform for engagement of citizens in governance begins. Looking forward to positive contributions!”
Prior to the launch, the CEO of MyGov, Abhishek Singh had tweeted: “...calling upon all citizens to give their ideas and suggestions and join this citizen engagement platform”.
Many other officials also expressed confidence over the new initiative. Abu Metha, adviser to the chief minister said: “Nagaland becomes the 10th state to launch my.gov.india. The aim is to bring the citizens closer to governance using modern tools of technology and social media. The citizens are the real stakeholders and the original VIPs. Government is to serve and deliver.”
This new platform now provides spectrums of citizen-centric governance for reaching out in digital media without hassle.
“Give your inputs for promoting the use of organic farming in Nagaland; share ideas about the improvement of Road Connectivity in Nagaland; share your suggestions for making Nagaland an eco-tourism destination; and share your experiences about the Hornbill Festivals,” were the trending topics of discussion on Thursday night.
The platform also encouraged visitors to “become a my.gov volunteer and work towards building a new Nagaland” and also participate in groups, tasks, discussions, polls, blogs and talks.
It may be mentioned that my.gov platform was first launched by the prime minister of India on July 26, 2014 with the aim of involving the common citizens at large in the arena governance. The idea of the platform was to bring the government and its people closer through online platform in order to create an interface of healthy exchanges of ideas and views.
