DIMAPUR — Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Thursday described the signing of the Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on mineral oil operations in the Assam–Nagaland boundary areas as a "historic day" that marks the beginning of a new chapter in inter-state cooperation and economic development.
In a post on X, he wrote: “It opens a new chapter for Nagaland, enhancing economic activity, improving resource management & strengthening inter-state cooperation through dialogue & mutual respect. It ensures natural wealth of land translates into tangible development for our people, creating opportunities in the sector.”
The chief minister further described the agreement as the beginning of "a new era of brotherhood, collaboration and shared prosperity" between Nagaland and Assam and expressed hope that it would be implemented in both letter and spirit.
