Dimapur, Dec.13: State lone Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio today advocated promoting hospitality sector in the State in order to provide gainful employment to the trained Naga boys and girls, who are currently engaged in different parts of the country.
Speaking at the inauguration of Hotel Europa Inn at Golaghat Road, Dimapur, on Tuesday, Rio remarked that venturing into such sector could bring about employment to Naga youth. While favouring such venture to enable Naga youth to find gainful employment, Rio sought support from all corners including the administration, police and public.
With many Naga youth working in the hospitality industry outside the State, who long to come back home, Rio asserted such ventures could leave room for the youth for employment and create opportunities for them to work in their hometown.
With conducive environment for promotion of hospitality industry and create employment opportunities for Naga youth, Rio regretted that the State is not in a position to bring in five star hotels thereby impeding entrepreneurs work towards providing a decent hotels for weary travellers with security.
“Nagaland known as the land of festivals witnessed tourists only during Hornbill festival that is only for 10 days. But if situation in the State improves, we can expect many tourists even during off season,” asserted Rio.
He also called upon the employees to practice polite approach so that they send positive message to visitors and be the ambassador of Nagaland.
On the occasion, Neiphiu Rio also called upon the Nagas to inculcate the culture of dining out with families in restaurants. He reiterated his call on Nagas to practice the culture of spending time with families at restaurants and not only at home.
