Rights advocacy organisation affirms commitment to justice, accountability

- DIMAPUR — While
welcoming the unprecedented volume of applications and inquiries from various
civil society organisations (CSO) concerning the pending issues related to the
Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) mega scheme, the Nagaland Transparency, Public Rights
Advocacy and Direct Action Organisation (NTPRADAO) has reaffirmed its
unwavering commitment to its core mission of serving as a bridge and advocate
for the marginalised sections of Naga society.
- In this regard, the organisation called upon all
right-thinking citizens to stand united in upholding public rights and ensuring
transparency in governance.
- In a press statement, the organisation president, Phemching
Konyak, secretary Albert Kire and state executive Temjen Mar, have expressed
gratitude to the public and CSOs for their active engagement and for bringing
forward their grievances. They have acknowledged the urgency of the matter and
the public’s desire for a swift resolution.
- It has, however, emphasised the importance of a thorough and
systematic investigation to ensure accuracy and fairness.
- “While we deeply respect the concerns raised and appreciate
the trust placed on us, it is imperative that we avoid rushing to conclusions
without a comprehensive ground report. The government officials have initiated
a detailed inquiry and we urge everyone to remain patient as the process
unfolds,” the statement read.
- It has invited every concerned individual and organisation
to join them in the collective effort to safeguard the rights and interests of
the people.
- NTPRADAO further assured the public to continue monitoring
the situation closely and provide updates with the progress of the
investigations.
