F ormed in the year 2015, “Indoors” is a three member electro instrumental rock band with members Saru (guitarist), Meren (bassist) and Along (synths).
The band despite its recent entrance to the music world has already released two singles, namely ‘Fever Pitch’ and ‘Sleepstream’.
They believe the Internet can be instrumental in helping promote talented musician of the state. Read on to find out more interesting facts about the trio!
EASTERN MIRROR: A little history behind the formation of the band.
Indoors: Saru (guitarist) and Along(synths) are neighbours so basically they jam up everyday and use to make music. So one day they decided to form a band and therefore they called up Meren (bassist) and formed the band called Indoors. And they came up with their first single called Fever Pitch in 2015.
EASTERN MIRROR: The band as mentioned in your indihut profile wishes to create more music to reach out to the people and achieve their goals …What is your goal focused on?
Indoors: Right now our main focus is on how to refine and polish ourselves as musicians and reach out to the people with good music.
EASTERN MIRROR: Popular or famous? ..which one would you choose and why?
Indoors: Neither popular nor famous but we just want to be good in whatever we do and be successful in it.
EASTERN MIRROR: You guys being gifted with one of the most talented hands…. Do you as a band dream of becoming a world famous band one day?
Indoors: Yes, we do. Maybe one day..:D
EASTERN MIRROR: And supplementing to the previous question…..What do you think is needed along with talents to reach the world stage. Do you think the state too can play a role for talented musicians to go beyond Nagaland and India?
Indoors: Talent is just one part of the picture. To complete this we need lots of practice and hardwork. Many of the famous musicians no doubt they were born with talent but if we see their journey to success, not only the talent but because of practice and hard work made them what they are now.” Practice is not a thing you do once but it is the thing you do that makes you good.”
Yes, the state can play a very important role in uplifting the local talents and promote them. Maybe organize some online competition or something .Internet is easily accessible by many. Not everyone can come and compete in a beat competition or contest due to monetary problem or travelling or many untold problems but if the Government organizes something online then it will be a boon for many artists.
EASTERN MIRROR: If given an opportunity to perform live with a world renowned band who would it be and why?
Indoors: Actually Saru loves listening to Blues and rock bands ,Meren loves Jazz and Along loves listening to dance music so our opinions differ on to which famous band we would love to perform with if given a chance.
What is your debut instrumental track ‘Fever Pitch’ based on? Any inspirations?
To be frank we didn’t get any inspiration for making Fever Pitch. We were just strumming along and then the melody struck and came up with the song.
