[dropcap]M[/dropcap]usic is a way we can belt, hook on to that influence and we feel music with our entire feelings. Music moves us, opens our emotions passing all barriers. Music is a piece that we all can connect with so Readers get connected with your favorite artists with the Rhythm of Love. On Fridays, Eastern Mirror will feature Artists/bands from the state and outside while promoting MUSIC-the present craze of the state. EM: A brief history of, ‘Alobo Naga and the Band.’ Alobo Naga and The Band (ANTB): Long story short , 2011 after my first debut album I had a concert where I invited around 70 artiste from all over Nagaland to play with me and from there these 4 wonderful gentlemen formed the band with me and here we are in our 4th year as a band. God has been very good to us and blessed us in so many ways in just a short span of time and still the blessings are flowing. No doubt we are still struggling and working hard towards our dream, praying that one day we will make it big and pave ways for many of our musicians to follow. EM: At what point did you and your team realize that music was something you wanted to turn into a career? ANTB: The day we realize that there s nothing bigger in life then doing something where your passion and heart is we decided to go full time. We are thankful to God today that even though we don’t earn much like others when it comes to finance but we are happy and we enjoy what we do, cos at the end of the day that’s all it matters and yes we gets to travel and share our music with people around the world. Btw for all upcoming musicians out there, we completed our studies first before we turn into this career full time. Education is also very essential and it helps and also people respect you, so kindly don’t neglect your studies along with your practice. EM: Most memorable/cherished moment so far as a musician ANTB: As a musician many of us struggle to find our identity initially but we are happy that today we know exactly how our sound and music should be. And one of the best moments in the world is hearing the crowds sing our songs up from the stage. As a band we have experienced the best and even the worst moments but at the end of the day everything’s a memory and something to cherish all our life. EM: ‘Alobo Naga and the Band’ known worldwide and one of the most popular and successful band of North East, you must have experienced ‘criticisms’. And your reactions? ANTB: We knew it from the beginning that fame and criticism were all part of the package, so we were well prepared beforehand. Of course we are also human and we do get depressed and hurt sometimes but with years of experience and love from our supporters we are getting stronger each passing day. EM: As an internationally acclaimed band who has tasted world stage, how do you grade music industry of Nagaland? ANTB: No doubt we have awesome and talented musicians from our place, and we are no less from others. But one of the biggest problems is dedication and professionalism among the musicians. We still wait for opportunity to knock our door and that’s how most of the talented musicians or artiste waste their time and talent away . There’s no short cut to success only God, work hard, practice, dedication and good promotion & marketing are the solution. EM: Being a recipient of many awards and titles, which award do you treasure the most? ANTB: We value every recognition and awards but of course winning the Best Indian Act and being nominated for the Best Worldwide Act at the MTV EMA 2012, opened many doors for us. EM: Any message for your fans? ANTB: First of all we don’t want to use the words FANS but rather supporters, friends and well wishers, may be one day we will if we become famous and big. Anyways we are what we are today because of God and all of you. Without you guys we are nothing and you guys give us the reason to work harder and get better every single day. Thank you for all the love and support all through these years and please kindly do continue to support us and uphold us in your prayers. We are working on our album and new singles, which will come out very soon so stay tuned.
