KOHIMA — Rhavi
Rume from Chakhesang tribe won the state-level log-cutting competition on Saturday
held at Naga Solidarity Park in Kohima.
The event was part of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas 2024
celebration and IEC campaign for Dharti Aabaa Jatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA
JGUA), organised by the Tribal Research Institute (TRI), department of Tribal
Affairs, Government of Nagaland, and funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs,
Government of India.
Rukuohetuo Rulho from Angami tribe secured first runner-up
and Yhunsilo Lorin from Rengma tribe won the second-runner-up position.
Letuozo Patrick Kiewhuo from Angami tribe was the winner in
the state-level spear throw competition.
Merthung from Lotha tribe and Peuhaulungzing Mbung from
Zeliang tribe secured the second and third positions respectively.
Later in the afternoon, a cultural mosaic was held with the
minister of Roads and Bridges, G Kaito Aye, as special guest and the additional
secretary and financial advisor of Ministry of Textiles with additional charge
of M/o DoNER and M/o Food Processing Industries, Asit Gopal, as the honoured
guest. The advsior of Tribal Affairs and Election, H Tovihoto Ayemi, was the
chief host.
