KIPHIRE — Takatemjen Pongen, Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC), Headquarters, inaugurated a reverse osmosis filtered drinking water facility at Agape Higher Secondary School in Kiphire on Monday in the presence of students and faculty members.
While inaugurating the filtered water plant, Pongen disclosed that the district administration under various schemes has installed more than 70 filtered water facilities across government schools in the district.
He noted that among private schools, Agape Higher Secondary School is one of the few to provide a proper filtered facility for students, stated an update.
Encouraging the students, he said that students are like pebbles: initially rough and unpolished, but constant learning and practice make one perfect.

He asked the students to undergo the process of constant polishing so that one fine day they will become polished pebbles to fulfil the purpose of their being on earth.
Highlighting the project, the administrator said that with the rising climate and sensing the need, the school had felt the need to install a drinking water facility for a long time. He expressed happiness that the school has fulfilled this dream.
He also mentioned that the school has a rainwater storage capacity of one lakh litres, and for drinking water, the school reserves 10,000 litres. The reverse osmosis plant has a capacity to filter 1,000 litres per hour, which feeds the filtered plant for drinking purposes.
