Retired employees and pensioners of the state government of Nagaland are again cautioned against using middlemen or “dalals” (brokers) in resolving entitlement cases.
The establishment of the Accountant General of Nagaland issued a press release on Wednesday, July 15 warning that using middlemen or brokers might make them lose considerable sums of money.
“This is to request all retired state government employees once again not to approach ‘middlemen’ or ‘dalals’ for settlement of their entitlements cases as chances of huge sums of hard earned money being siphoned off is not ruled out,” the establishment stated.Retired government employees are also asked to immediately inform the Accountant general’s office if cuts or percentages are sought by people employed to inquire on the progress of entitlements and benefits.
“Outstation retired government employees are requested to immediately inform this office in case persons engaged by them to inquire on the progress of their entitlement benefits solicit percentages/cuts in the name of this office,” the press release stated.
Settled pension, GPF cases ready
In other matters, the establishment has informed that pensions and General Provident Fund (GPF) payment cases settled up to June 2015 are now ready for pensioners and GPF subscribers. The establishment of the Accountant General of Nagaland informed about the matter in a press release on Wednesday, July 15.
Retired state government officers are informed that pension and GPF final payments settled up to the stated month have been uploaded on the website of the Accountant general of the state.
Pensioners may log in to this the website www.agnagaland.gov.in by clicking on ‘pension felicitation’ or ‘GPF felicitation’ or by directly clicking on the sticky note written ‘Click here’ to view the list of settled pension and GPF final payment cases. The list has also been put up for display at the Public Relation Cell and can be viewed on any working days during office hours, the establishment stated.
Further, the establishment has informed all state government employees under the new pension scheme that the Accountant General’s office has ‘no role in the new pension scheme’.
“Thus, any queries relating to the new pension scheme maybe taken up with the directorate of Treasuries & Accounts,” the press release from the Accounts office stated.
Another matter the press release mentioned was the online grievance redress system. The redress system of the Accountant General is functioning. Citizens can access the system on the establishment’s website.
“Any person having grievance with any entitlement functions (pension, GPF, pay slips and loans) discharged by the office of the Accountant General (A&E) can record his/her grievance online. Along with text of the grievance, relevant documents can also be uploaded,” te press release said.
“Acknowledgments would be provided both via SMS and e-mail, along with status updates via SMS. They can also write to the Deputy Accountant General (A&E) Shri. Kahoto J Yepthomi or e-mail at kahoto_j@yahoo.co.in or agaenagaland@cag.gov.in for immediate redressal (sic) of their grievances,” the press release stated.
HoDs told to report on time
Also, heads of departments of the state government are requested once again to ensure timely submission of all retirement related documents (that is, six months before the date of retirement ) to avoid hardship to retired officials.
“The office as of now has been fully sensitized and is geared to settle all cases within the stipulated two months period as per commitments given in our citizen’s charter,” the press release from the Accountant general’s establishment said.
