The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) has informed to all concerned in ‘good faith’ to restrain unwarranted statements in public regarding ENPO’s statehood demand (Frontier Nagaland).
“Taking note of the uninvited and deliberate statements in public functions, gatherings, statements etc. over the past years and as also published through local media, the people of Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation consider such statements as being discriminatory and exploitive, extremely insensitive, unbecoming, ill-motivated, and are thus unwelcome by the public. As in regard to the size, status and idea of a statehood, it is universally and factually not merely the size, position or location that matters as such, but fundamental and democratic justification specially in a modern and progressive country like the Republic of India,” a statement issued by Media Cell, ENPO said. The ENPO mentioned that there are countries smaller than Nagaland state or even the proposed Eastern Nagaland state (Frontier Nagaland) which is also modern and progressive.
