Our Correspondent Kohima, Jan. 26 (EMN): Governor RN Ravi took salute and presented awards to meritorious persons on the occasion of the 71st Republic Day celebration at Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza in Kohima on January 26.
Twenty parade contingents varying from
para-military service personnel, Nagaland Armed Police (IR), DEF,
ex-servicemen, NCC, Bharta Scouts and Guides, brass and pipe band and a
contingent from Sainik School in Punglwa took part in the march past.
On the occasion, four tribal groups namely
Angami cultural troupe, New Sendenyu dance troupe, Khiamniungan cultural troupe
and Pochury cultural troupe presented cultural items on the occasion, besides
taekwondo drill, dance and music by various groups.
The Governor and Chief Minister along with their wives and other officials, later visited various departmental stalls. The department of Health and Family Welfare also initiated special awards based on community active participation in management and delivering health services in Kohima district. Tseminyu community health centre, Sechu Zubza primary health centre, and Thizama sub-health centre were awarded with commendation certificate along with cash prize of INR 50,000, INR 25,000 and INR 15,000 respectively.
