Ahead of the ensuing 19th. LBES Youth Rally, 2018 which is scheduled to be held at N. Longidang Baptist Church, hosted by the eight villages of Nyiro Range from January 12 – 14, 2018, the Planning, Finance and the various Committees reviewed the condition of Wokha-Longidang road. After a thorough survey, the Committees came to the conclusion that repair and maintenance of the road has become a necessity in order to ensure safe and comfortable journey of the Officials and Delegates attending the Rally. The target of the Committees was to employ machinery and manual force for 13 days. And as targeted, the work was completed on the 13th. day on November 30, 2017.
A meagre fund was set aside from the collection of believers of Baptist Churches of Nyiro Range which was virtually insufficient for maintenance of the road which was in a deplorable condition. However, the road could be repaired to the satisfaction of the people of the area only because of the constant support and encouragement by Er. Mhathung Kikon, the Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Wokha who provided all the required machinery, bearing all expenses including the fuel used in them. He further assured the people of the area through the Committees of his help and support when the Committees gives a final touch to the road, including construction of the side-drains on the eve of the proposed Youth Rally. Therefore, the Committees on behalf of the public of Nyiro Range express our profound gratitude to Er. Mhathung Kikon, for his concern for the area and its people. His kind help when the area and its people are in dire need will always be fondly cherished and pray that he will continue to be a channel of blessing for the people in need. We are also thankful to Er. Ekonthung Murry, the Asstt. Mechanical Engineer, Wokha for taking special interest by providing us the required machinery in the maintenance work.
The Committees also express our gratitude to the Officials of LBES., particularly Mr. Jenibemo Kithan, the Youth Secretary, who showed his concern by visiting the repair-site and was also the special guest on completion of the work. The Committees also express our gratitude to the Churches, Village Councils and the general public of Nyiro Range who continued to support and encourage us by rendering their services in the maintenance work financially and materially. We further appeal to all the public of Nyiro Range to come forward and render their best possible services as the Committees continue to “REPAIR OUR ROAD”.
Through this column, we would also like to inform all the 137 Churches under LBES., Officials and Delegates of the 19th. Youth Rally 2018 that a properly repaired and maintained road is assured to ensure safe and comfortable journey of all, who will be attending the Rally and invited all to come without any reservation or hesitation.
