DIMAPUR — The Rengma Hoho (RH) mourned the passing of former minister Dr. Khasü Kath, who passed away on November 17.
"Hebrews 9:27 reminds us that 'it is appointed unto man once to die, and after this the judgment.' With profound sorrow, we mourn the passing of Dr. Khasü Kath, a highly respected leader of our community who has now gone to be with the Heavenly Father," the hoho said in a condolence note.
It said that Late Dr. Kath was a dedicated medical professional and as a committed political leader who exemplified true statesmanship. It was further mentioned that he was the first cabinet minister from the Rengma tribe, and during his tenure as Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), the Tseminyu Sub-Division was upgraded to an Assistant Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Headquarters, marking a historic milestone for the community.

The hoho noted that his contributions have left an enduring imprint on the socio-economic progress of the Rengma community, and the loss has created a deep void in the collective leadership.
The Rengma Hoho extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved family. "May the departed soul rest in peace at the right hand of our Heavenly Father," the message concluded.
