Wokha, Dec. 29: Renegades were the first team in the ongoing Winter Cricket Challenge to enter the semi final beating Rising Stars
Renegades won the toss and elected to bat scoring 159 in 20 overs losing 8 wickets.
The bowlers from Rising friends, Yiben Mozhui took 3 Wickets and Nzan Tungoe claimed 2 wickets.
Though the target was not high and achievable with a consistent run rate the loss of wickets was the undoing for Risings Stars and were all out in 18.2 overs scoring just 120.
A good bowling skill was displayed by Thechamo Claiming of the Renegades claiming 4 wickets and his team mate Renchio took 3 wickets.
Nayan Hazarika of Renegade who hit 50 runs in 38 Balls faced,with 1 six and 7 fours and collected 1 wicket wasadjudged the Man of the Match and Collected a Cash along Certificate donated by the Match Patron Mr. Echungbemo Erui EAC of Kiphiri.Earlier in the day the last match of the first round was played between GAPYO (Green) and Imperials.
GAPYO Won the toss and elected to bat first scoring 143 but the Imperials were unable to chase the target in the 20 overs limitation and lost the match by 13 runs.
Ritish Paul of GAPYO bagged the Man of the Match award scoring 44 runs and claimed 2 wickets.
