Renben Kikon has been appointed president of Wokha District Entrepreneurs’ Association for 2025-2028 as the body revives to support local entrepreneurs in Nagaland.

DIMAPUR — The Wokha District Entrepreneurs’ Association (WDEA) has revived itself after a gap and appointed new office bearers for the tenure 2025-2028. The announcement followed the constitution of a search committee on July 11, which finalised the new leadership on August 16.
According to a press release, WDEA was formed in 2014 with the motto "Integrating Possibilities" under its mission to be the empowering agent for local entrepreneurs, fostering economic growth and improved living standards, and its vision focused on economic growth where all benefit from high business performance and enhanced living standards.

The aims and objectives of the association are to support, uplift, and nurture emerging entrepreneurs in the district; to safeguard and protect local entrepreneurs from threats and intimidations by ensuring a secure business environment; to assist and facilitate access to government and private agency benefits, rights, and support for entrepreneurs; to provide a platform for members to share ideas, expertise, and experiences; and to engage in entrepreneurial and business-related events within and outside the district to stay updated and network.
It also seeks to shoulder social responsibilities related to people's welfare, contributing to the district's overall development.
It stated that WDEA felt the need to revive itself after a 3-4 year gap, recognising the need for strong office bearers to lead the organisation and support local entrepreneurs. The search committee consisted of M James Tungoe (convenor), Ponathung Kikon (co-convenor), Thunglamo Odyuo (member secretary), Abenthung S Ngullie (member), Janthungo Erui (member), Vungathung C Murry (member), and Renbenthung Kikon (member).
After thorough study and meetings, the committee announced the office bearers on August 16.
The office bearers for the tenure 2025-2028 are Renben Kikon (president), Thunglamo Odyuo (vice president), Zarenche Murry (vice president), M James Tungoe (general secretary), Christy Kikon (assistant general secretary), Janthungo Erui (finance secretary), Lechio Murry (treasurer), Rosalyn Kikon (woman coordinator), Nyanbeni Kikon (woman coordinator), Jonas Ovung (executive), Oren Kikon (executive), Vanbemo Humtsoe (executive), Lozubeni Humtsoe (executive), Meribeni Lotha (executive), Nzanchumo Humtsoe (executive), Chonben Tungoe (executive), Aben Ngullie (advisor), Ponathung Kikon (advisor), Vungathung Murry (advisor), William Kikon (advisor), and Yanrenthung Humtsoe (advisor).
After the announcement of office bearers, the association held its inaugural executive meeting at Hotel Hornbill on September 1, where the new president, Renben Kikon, welcomed the newly appointed office bearers and highlighted the benefits of joining the association.
The key decisions taken during the meeting included a membership invitation where the association invited potential new members from local businesses to join and benefit from its initiatives. The registration fee was set at INR 100, while membership and renewal for 2025 was set at INR 50.
Regarding the registration process, members can register at Hotel Hornbill & Restaurant from 10 am onwards throughout the ongoing month. The association further encouraged entrepreneurs to join WDEA and benefit from networking opportunities with local businesses, access to resources and support for entrepreneurial growth, and a platform to share ideas and expertise.
