Diphu, July 30 (EMN): In some of the completed parts of the 3.90 k.m. stretch of raod from NH-36 Ronghang village to Milik village which is still under construction has worn out and in need of immediate repair.
The total length of 3.90 k.m. of the road was taken up for construction under Annual Action Plan (AAP) 2017-18 under Singhason MAC constituency in Karbi Anglong district.
The works is divided into two groups with 1.95 k.m. for each groups. First group is contractor AK Roy and the second group is contractor Anil Kumar Gosh. The total estimated amount is INR 3 crores.
Now the question is with the first group contractor AK Roy, where from 1.90 k.m. allotted to him has completed an approximate of 1,500 metres.
When this reporter inspected the road last Saturday it was found that between the approximate 1,500 metres done by contractor Roy, found that in certain locations the outer layer of black topping has worn out. When asked to Sectional Officer (SO) of Longnit Section of Diphu PWD Roads Division, Chatra Teron, who is supervising the work, he said 3.90 length of road from NH-36 Ronghang village to Millik village was taken up by Diphu PWD Roads Division for construction under AAP, 2017-18.
On getting to know of the low quality of work by the contractor, the SO Teron inspected the site today and asked the concerned contractor to take up for repair, where it has worn out. The place where it was damaged, proper setting of sand, stones will be asked to do. Side drains will be constructed and culverts will be made strong and have asked the contractor to do it,” said Teron. An approximate of 1,500 metres from the 1.90 length allotted to Roy has been black topped. Also INR 20 lakhs as running bill has been withdrawn by contractor Roy, SO Teron said.
