Dimapur, Sep. 29 (EMN): Reacting to a news item that was carried in the local dailies on Sep. 27 wherein the president of the Land Owners Union (LOU), Doyang Hyrdo Elecrtic Project (DHEP) paced a set of demand to the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO Ltd) with regard to development issues, a former president of the LOU-DHEP on Sat. said that there is no legitimate LOU-DHEP at present.
“There is no legit LOU-DHEP at present as the select list of executive members of the LOU-DHEP from the 17 villages which were approved by the then Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, for the mater of LOU-DHEP presidential election has been quashed by the Hon’ble High Court in W.P.(C) NO.89(K) of 2017,” said R . Yanthan, former president LOU-DHEP in a press statement.
He said that the issue of LOU-DHEP is still ‘sub judiced’ before the court of law, and therefore, no individual or group has the legal right to use the nomenclature of LOU-DHEP.
