
Nzanbemo Kithan and registrars after the training on online
registration of births and deaths in Longleng town on February 4.
- DIMAPUR — The 2nd
phase district-level training on online registration of births and deaths was
held at the conference hall of the District Economics and Statistics’ office in
Longleng town on February 4.
- A DIPR report stated that registrars from different
registration units attended the training.
- The district economics and statistics officer of Longleng,
Nyushotho Nyuthe, has thanked the resource person from DESO Kohima and
registrars for attending the programme.
- In an introductory note, the DESO stated that the RBD Act,
1969 is a law that mandates the registration of all births and deaths within
the state to ensure proper record-keeping and vital statistics collection
across India including Nagaland. He urged the registrar to be responsible in
registering births and deaths within their jurisdiction and provide accurate
data in a timely manner.
- He further expressed hope that all the registrars would be
efficient in their duties after the training.
- The training was led by ESO, Nzanbemo Kithan, from DES
Kohima.
- Similar training was held at ETC Hall in Tuensang town on
Wednesday, organised by District Economic and Statistical Office, Tuensang.
- P Shokum, district economic and statistical officer of Tuensang,
gave a brief introductory note about the training programme, while the training
was conducted by Nzanbemo Kithan, wherein he spoke on importance of
registration of birth and death, procedure for online registration of births
and deaths and civil registration system (CRS).
- Altogether, 90 participants attend the training programme.
