IMPHAL — The Red Shield Division of the Indian Army is set to host the State Wushu Championship 2025 in Imphal from November 15 to the 18th under Operation Sadbhavana.
The event will be held at the Sports Authority of India premises in Imphal.
The championship will feature competitions in two categories — Sanda, covering sub-junior, junior, and senior groups, and Taolu, covering sub-junior and junior groups — bringing together emerging talent from across the state.
Around 500 athletes are expected to participate, making it one of the most anticipated sporting events in the region.
"The championship reaffirms the Indian Army's unwavering commitment to nurturing sportsmanship, empowering young athletes and strengthening community bonds across Manipur under Operation Sadbhavana," says an official of the Red Shield Division. "By creating such competitive avenues, the Army continues to motivate the youth and promote a robust culture of fitness and sporting achievement in the state."
