Red House clinched the MGM College Annual Sports Week championship in Dimapur, with students competing in indoor and outdoor events at DDSC Stadium.

DIMAPUR — Red House secured the overall team championship as MGM College, Dimapur, concluded its Annual Sports Week held from February 10 to the 13th with participation of students and staff across indoor and outdoor sporting events.
According to a press release issued by the college on Friday, the sports week was organised to foster teamwork, discipline, physical fitness and a healthy competitive spirit among students.
The programme began on February 10 with indoor games conducted at the college campus. The inaugural ceremony for outdoor events was held on February 11 at the DDSC Stadium and was officially inaugurated by Fr. Giju George, who encouraged students to actively participate in sports while upholding healthy competition and fair play.

From February 11 to the 13th, outdoor events included track and field competitions such as 100m and 200m races, relay races, long jump, high jump and shot put, along with team events including tug of war, volleyball and football. The release stated that students participated with energy, discipline and camaraderie throughout the competitions.
The House Captains and Sports Committee members conducted the events, while the Student Council and volunteers coordinated and managed the programme. Audience participation and cheering for respective houses added to the atmosphere of the sports week.
The programme concluded on Friday with a closing ceremony and prize distribution. Winners of individual and team events were awarded medals and certificates, and Red House received the overall team championship trophy.
