[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Territorial Army will be recruiting youths from the northeast to join the force. Three recruitment rallies are being planned to be conducted between February 15 and the 24th. The first rally will be held in Meghalaya at Nongstoin on February 15 and the 16th.
The other rallies will be held in Lumding and Hamrem in Nagaon and KarbiAnglong districts of Assam, on the 19 & 20 and on 23 & 24 of this month respectively for the categories Soldier Gen duty, Chef, Dresser, Religious Teacher (Pastor) , and Equipment Repair. The PRO (Defence) of the army issued a press release on Monday informing of the rallies.Eligible candidates are to be aged between 18 and 42 years. Candidates must be a domicile of West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Candidates will be tested in, 1.6 km Run (one mile).Pull Ups (Beam),9 Feet Ditch, Should be able to cross by jumping, Balance Walk should be able to qualify. The candidates should be physically fit. They will undergo a medical examination prior to the enrolment, if clear all above tests. Educational qualifications range from class X pass which is “relaxable” to class VIII in certain specific cases. The educational qualification for Pastor is graduate and should have been priest by the appropriate Ecclesiastical and is still on the approved list of the local Bishop.
The selected candidates will be employed in 119 InfBn (TA) Assam. He will be trained as recruit for the period of one month in the unit from the date of enrolment followed by 34 weeks training at ASSAM Regt Centre, Shillong. “On completion of recruit training, it is mandatory for a candidate to attend two months annual training camp in a year,” the establishment stated.
Interested male candidates may report to the rally site at 7 AM, along with relevant documents for recruitment, education certificate from any university / school; class-VIII pass candidates should submit pass certificate duly signed by principal of the school and countersigned by District Education Officer.
Photographs affixed/attested by District Inspector of School. Education certificates / Board certificates in original. School Character Certificate, signed by the Headmaster of the school. Photograph attested by Headmaster. 12 copies of recent passport size photographs (not older than three months) Photographs need not be attested.
All photographs should be copies of one-click photo. Different type/ nature of photograph will not be accepted. Individual’s photo should be affixed on Residence Certificate in Original residential certificate and duly attested by DM/Sub-division officer/DC, the PRO stated.
Caste Certificate signed by DM/SDM/DC and photograph-affixed attested by Gram Panchayat Pradhan, certificate with family photograph signed by SHO of police station / principal of school/college not be more than six months old on the date of recruitment rally are to be provided as well. Another document that is required is a proof of date of birth. Further exact eligibility conditions can be obtained from the office of respective DCs, the PRO informed.
