Dimapur, March 8 (EMN): Smarting from the outright public rejection from the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party, the Naga People’s Front Legislature Party has expressed surprise over what it stated was the ruling NDPP’s “knee-jerk response” to a letter written by 19 NPF legislators asking its leader to stitch an alliance with the NDPP. In a statement issued on Friday, the NPF Legislature Party stated that the “issue was an internal NPF legislature matter and not addressed to the NDPP.” “NPF-LP is genuinely concerned over the current burning issues being faced by the state especially the Naga political issue and CAB 2016 and their political polarisation in the region. Therefore, NPF-LP discussed and decided to write to our party legislature leader and to have consultation with the president NPF Nagaland on the possibility of a regional party alliance within the state before LS election. “NPF Legislature Party feels that any effort for a coalition should be through a front door approach and not through back door approach,” it stated. On Thursday, the NDPP has dismissed the NPF legislators’ overture as ‘absurd and incomprehensible.’
