Dimapur, April 12 (EMN): The returning officer to I-Nagaland parliamentary election, M Patton on Friday ruled out re-poll in any constituency in the aftermath of the just conducted Lok Sabha elections.
The announcement was made after the election officials scrutinised the reports collected from different polling officials. “Complaint was received from INC and NPF regarding repolling at PS No. 31 Riphyim Old III under Tyui AC alleging that there was multiple voting. On going through the report of the presiding officer and sector magistrate, no discrepancies were observed.
“The polling agents of both the political parties were present and they did not raise any issue/complaints of multiple voting at the particular polling station. DC and ARO Wokha also said that when he visited particular polling station in the first hour, he did not witness any person casting multiple votes at the polling station and there was no abnormality in the percentage of votes polled,” read the official notice issued on Friday.
