- DIMAPUR — District Hospital, Longleng,
successfully conducted a one-day re-orientation programme on LaQshya (Labour
Room Quality Improvement Initiative) at the medical superintendent’s office on
May 28.
- The programme was aimed at enhancing the quality of care in
maternity services, an update stated.
- Dr. Longri, Medical Officer from UNICEF and Health &
Family Welfare department, Kohima, the resource person for the session,
provided an in-depth orientation on the key components of Kayakalp, maternity
OT assessment checklist, and various quality assurance tools.
- He explained the structure and importance of the assessment
checklist and encouraged staff to become proficient in its application. He also
emphasised the importance of quality management and introduced the Likert Scale
as a tool for analysing client satisfaction.

- The orientation witnessed active participation from medical
professionals including obstetricians and gynaecologists, anaesthetists,
paediatricians, labour and OT technicians, staff nurses, nursing
superintendent, and the district program manager for quality assurance.
- “The initiative reflects District Hospital Longleng’s
continued commitment to improving maternal and newborn care services through
structured training and quality monitoring system,” the update stated.
