KOHIMA, DECember 6
With banners carrying beautiful thoughts and the stage filled with rich flowers, Rev. Dr. Neiliezhü Üsou Memorial School (RDNUMS) on December 5 exhibited a brilliant show on the occasion of its 4th Pre-Christmas cum Grandparents’ Day at the Heritage, Kohima.
Speaking on the topic ‘Soaring above and beyond,’ Akobu Üsou expressed that although the journey of their late father, Rev. Dr. Neiliezhü Üsou fell too short, his good works while on earth, his love for God and people continues to soar above and beyond, inspiring, guiding and strengthening every single day of their lives. Towards this end, she noted “to have the innocence and purity of the children at RDNUMS reflecting the good life of our late father is the biggest treasure that we can inherit. It is our hope and prayer that we may love as he did, live as he lived and be the example that he was,” she added.
The event, meanwhile, gave emphasis on grandparents, who are special people; who love their grandchildren and are always there to listen and lend a helping hand, give love and devotion and so much more, while also highlighting that they are the example of the kind of people we should be.
The grand occasion was marked by impressive performances by the children of RDNUMS as well as Ameü Üsou Zao and the choir accompanied by Neikhrieo Üsou, James Basnet & the band and Üsou’s instrumental apart from others.
Earlier, greetings and prayer was said by Asenla Temsu, Principal of Chandmari Higher Secondary School, while Azi Tetseo Nienu spoke on behalf of the parents. Tribute was paid to the grandparents of the RDNUMS children in the form of special gifts. The event further highlighted a nativity play titled “The manger held it all,” arranged by Aleü Üsou.
