
Dimapur — To strengthen healthcare facilities and take healthcare to the doorstep of the public in rural areas, a Reproductive Child Health (RCH) camp was conducted across Nagaland in the past one week.
An update from the Health department stated that RCH camp was held in Lalong village in Peren district on March 28. It stated that health services and medicines were provided free of cost to all the patients and family planning services were also made available for eligible couples.
The camp also included identification and vaccination of dropped-out and left-out children, screening for diabetes, hypertension, and syphilis, various ailment like viral fever and geriatric care, and routine immunisation were also done.
The camp also administered 123 OPD, lab services like blood sugar, malaria tests, sputum collection and PTK tests. It informed that 43 CMHIS cards were generated during the camp and held awareness talk on tuberculosis, leprosy.
The medical team included Dr. K Limatula Ao, CMO; Dr. Lanuakum, deputy CMO; Dr. Supongmenla Walling, DPO (RCH & UIP); Dr. G Viholi Sema, ZLO; Dr. Keholi Sema, DTO; Dr. Hedungkiebe, DSO (ophthalmic); Dr. Denis H Chingpen, SMO (Obs. and Gynae) at DH, Peren; Dr. Nuksung, MO, Tening CHC; vertical programme staff, pharmacist, lab technicians, nurses, ASHA and AWW's.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]In a related programme, Zunheboto district health society conducted a two-day RCH camp at Satakha and Ghathashi PHC under Zunheboto district on March 27 and 28.
An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO) of Zunheboto stated that the medical team led by Dr. Heto Swu, district programme officer (UIP & RCH), along with Dr. Kapfo, senior specialist of Obstetrics and Gynae at District Hospital Zunheboto, medical officers of the respective block and health units, dentist, DPMU staff, RBSK and MMU team, BPM rendered their services to the public during the camp.
Altogether, 487 people have availed free medical services such as sterilisation, IUCD, NCD screening, dental, MTP and laboratory test.
Report added that a focus group discussion was also carried out targeting the pregnant mothers and children.
In another programme, Mokokchung district health society conducted a reproductive child health (RCH) outreach camp at Changtongya community health centre (CHC) under Mokokchung district on Tuesday.
According to an update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Mokokchung, stated that the medical team, led by Dr. Takosunep, DPO (UIP & RCH); Dr. Imlisenba Lemtur, pediatrician at IMDH; Dr. Supongmeren, Obs & Gynae at IMDH, Mokokchung; along with the medical officers of the CHC Changtongya, provided services such as paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, family planning methods and other medical ailments.
It added that a total of 116 beneficiaries have availed the free medical services during the camp.
