- DIMAPUR — Commemorating
its 90th anniversary, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Kohima, in collaboration
with the Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State Branch (IRCSN) and the Blood
Bank of Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima (NHAK), organised a blood donation camp
on Tuesday at its conference hall in Kohima.
- The event was aimed at promoting voluntary blood donation
and addressing the ongoing need for blood supply in hospitals. An update from
IRCSN stated that individuals came forward to donate blood, contributing to the
life-saving cause and exemplifying the spirit of humanitarian service.
- Speaking at the event, officials from RBI Kohima emphasised
the importance of corporate social responsibility and the role of institutions
in community service.
- It stated that the general secretary of IRCSN, Akhale V
Khamo, extended her appreciation to the donors for their selfless act and
highlighted the critical role of voluntary blood donation in saving lives,
while Dr. Avila Sangtam from NHAK spoke on the importance of blood donation.
- It stated the Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State
Branch, remains committed to its mission of promoting humanitarian services
including blood donation drives, health awareness programmes and emergency
relief initiatives.
- Meanwhile, the organisers have expressed gratitude to all
participants, volunteers, and medical professionals for facilitating the smooth
execution of the camp. They encouraged more individuals to come forward and
contribute to similar noble initiatives in the future.
