DIMAPUR — The
Razeba Public Organisation (RPO) has asserted that it would “protect” the
ongoing PMGSY road construction from Pfütsero to Chilo (Kilo), Phek district,
to ensure quality workmanship free from any undue interference.
In a press release issued on Saturday, the organisation
maintained that the 15 km road serves as the sole lifeline for the area
comprising Zelome village, and Zhavame and Tsüpfüme villages, both declared as
‘Vegetable village.’
“The road connectivity is crucial for economic activities,
particularly for transportation of agricultural produce and other essential
commodities. Sharing border with Manipur state, it is also the gateway to Phek
district and is crucial for interstate business,” it stated.
The RPO appealed “to any firm/contractor not to compromise
with the quality of work.”
“Razeba Public Organisation strongly appeals to our own
community members to cooperate with the undertaking of the road construction
and also appeals to Razeba range leaders to treat this as a wake-up call.”
Further, the RPO stressed that there should not be an
obstacle in any form, be it from “individuals, organisations, clans, or Ihose
Battalion, NSCN (IM) (Kapamodzii).”
“At any cost, the RPO will protect the ongoing construction
for quality roads, and strong action will be taken against anyone hampering the
development of the road construction in any form,” the release stated.
