Dimapur, Dec. 20 (EMN): The second home match for Nagaland in the ongoing Ranji Trophy kicked off on Tuesday at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima
Nagaland won the toss against Uttar Pradesh and elected to field.
Uttar Pradesh, had a good start with an opening partnership of 247 runs. Both the openers Madhav Kaushik and Dhruv Chand Jurel (Wk) scored a century each. However the former was dismissed by Jonathan Rongsen while he was on 107 runs, a brilliant catch by Joshua at Short Leg.
Shortly, the wickets of Priyam Garg and Karan Sharma (C) followed soon as they were dismissed cheaply on 10 runs and 14 runs respectively by Rongsen, an update stated.
For Nagaland, Jonathan Rongsen took three wickets.
At the end of Day-1, Uttar Pradesh were 400/3 (90 overs) with Dhruv Chand Jurel (194 runs) and Rinku Singh (58 runs) at the crease.
Day-2 will begin at 8:30 am onwards.
