Goa players pose for the lens after defeating Nagaland on
the final day of the Ranji Trophy Plate Final played at Nagaland Cricket

DIMAPUR — Goa
defeated Nagaland by a margin of 362 runs on the final day of the Ranji Trophy
Plate Final played at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima, on Monday.
Showcasing their dominance with both bat and ball, Goa
scored 276/10 in 104.2 overs in the first innings and 517/7 declared in 158
overs in the second innings, an update stated.
For Goa, the key batsmen were Kashyap Bakhale with 161 runs
(279 balls, 16 fours), Snehal Kauthankar 202* (374 balls, 9 fours) and Darshan
Misal with 67 runs (123 balls).
Darshan Misal who scalped 5 wickets in the second innings
and Mohit Redkar with 4 wickets for 40 runs in 22 overs, were instrumental in
Goa’s win.
In reply, Nagaland were 216/10 (66.5 overs) in the first
innings and 215/10 (69.3 overs) in second innings. Hem with 54 runs (126 balls,
8 fours) and Nischal D with 31 runs (53 balls, 3 fours) were the key batsmen.
For Nagaland, notable bowlers were Suchith J with 2/117 and
Nagaho who claimed 2 wickets for 71 runs in 17 overs.
After setting an imposing target of 578 runs, Goa’s bowling
attack capitalised on the pressure, restricting Nagaland to 215 runs in their
second innings. Despite resilient knocks from Hem and Nischal D, Nagaland fell
short against a disciplined Goa bowling unit.

individual brilliance, earning them the prestigious Ranji Trophy Plate title.
Nagaland, though falling short, showcased potential and resilience throughout
