Random Covid testing reveals 7.19% positivity rate in Dimapur

Dimapur, May 21 (EMN):
As many as 292 samples were collected from several colonies in Dimapur over the past two days for random Covid-19 testing, out which 21 returned positive, which is 7.19% positivity rate, according to officials.

The DTF has been conducting random testing in and around the commercial following the Health department’s directive to take up the exercise in view of the steep rise in positive cases in the state.

A total of 126 samples were collected from Nagarjan and Burma Camp on Friday, May 21, and two samples tested positive. Out of the 126 samples, 60 were from Nagarjan town area and the two positive cases were from detected from this collection, while all 66 samples from Burma Camp area returned negative.

On Thursday, May 20, a total of 166 samples were collected from United Village, Naga United, Diphuphar under Chümoukedima area, PWD Colony and Lingrijan Colony, wherein 19 sample returned positive for the virus.

Here is break-up of random testing: United Village- 23 samples, seven positive; Naga United- 11 samples, seven positive; Diphuphar area- 16 samples, two positive; PWD Colony- 16 samples, nil positive; and Lingrijan town area- 50 samples, three positive.
