Dimapur, July 23 (EMN): As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), Ramky- ECI Engineering and Construction Ltd., handed over two ambulances to Dimapur traffic police during a programme held in the office of the commissioner of police on July 23.
Speaking at the function, the commissioner of police, Rothihu Tetseo, expressed gratitude to the company for their benevolent gesture, stating that it has been an immediate and most important requirement, especially along the highways owing to frequent occurrence of accidents.
While affirming not to compromise with regard to law and order and criminal activities, Tetseo also assured full security to the company.
A DIPR report stated that the two ambulances (Mahindra Supro Ambulance ZX AC BS-6 and Force Trax Ambulance AIS 125 Type B, AC BS-6) costing INR 20 lakh would be used especially to cater to the needs of accident victims both on the National Highway and town areas.
ACP traffic zone-2 Dimapur, Hentai Phom, who chaired the function, observed that both the ambulances were well suited for attending to all types of emergencies in the town areas as well as on the highway. He was optimistic that the ambulances would go a long way in saving lives by ensuring timely intervention and transportation of motor vehicle accident victims.
He further observed that it would enhance their capability of providing emergency medical care to personnel of Dimapur police during the Covid-19 pandemic and whenever required.
Pastor of Dimapur Police Baptist Church offered the dedicatory prayer. The keys of the ambulances were officially handed over to the commissioner of police and DCP traffic, Dimapur, by the representative of the company.
