  • Raj Bhavan Kohima celebrates Rajasthan State Foundation Day

  • DIMAPUR — Raj Bhavan, Kohima, celebrated Rajasthan State Foundation Day under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

  • According to a press release, the event highlighted Rajasthan's rich cultural heritage while strengthening the deep-rooted ties between the people of Nagaland and the Rajasthani community residing in the state.

  • The Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, addressed the gathering on the occasion, emphasising the importance of cultural unity and mutual respect. He stated that the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative served as a reminder that the nation's strength lies in embracing the unique cultures, traditions, and histories each state contributes to the national tapestry. He also remarked that, as Rajasthan Day was celebrated in Kohima, it reaffirmed the spirit of cultural solidarity.

  • Ganesan praised Rajasthan as the “Land of Kings”, noting its remarkable history of valour, vibrant artistic traditions, and deep cultural roots. He stated that from the golden sands of the Thar Desert to the magnificent forts of Jaipur, Rajasthan’s legacy is one of courage, art, and heritage that resonates with the soul of India.

  • The governor also lauded the contributions of the Rajasthani community in Nagaland, recognising their role in trade, entrepreneurship, education, and craftsmanship. He acknowledged their significant contributions to the state’s economy and social fabric, calling their presence an example of harmonious coexistence.

  • The governor remarked that their entrepreneurial spirit had strengthened local markets, their craftsmanship had enriched the culture, and their dedication to education had empowered countless Naga youths.

  • He encouraged deeper engagement between the Nagas and the Rajasthani community, envisioning joint efforts in entrepreneurship and sustainable development, as well as fostering new collaborations in business, innovation, and education between the two states.

  • The Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor, Rajesh Soundararajn, gave the opening remarks, while the speech on Rajasthan state was delivered by Basu Damani, general secretary of the Shree Marwari Sammelan Nagaland.
