- DIMAPUR — The farewell programme for the
outgoing Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor, Rajesh Soundararajan, was
held at Dr. Imkongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan, Kohima, on Thursday.
- According to an update, in his farewell address,
Soundararajan expressed his privilege in serving at Raj Bhavan for nearly two
years and reflected on his 13-year journey in Nagaland, emphasising that he is
leaving only for a short time and will return.
- He thanked the governor for the opportunity and trust placed
in him, stating that he departs with fond memories.
- He described the governor as a father figure to all and
acknowledged the wisdom he gained from him—lessons that, he said, cannot be
found in books or acquired through mere experience. This, he noted, would be
his most valuable takeaway.
- Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the officers and
staff of Raj Bhavan for their unwavering support, which enabled him to fulfil
his duties diligently.
- Commending their capability and efficiency, he
encouraged them to maintain their high standards and embrace continuous
learning, remaining open to change when necessary.
- The Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, recalled their
connection stemming from their shared linguistic background, highlighting the
familiarity and understanding that developed between them due to their common
roots. The governor emphasised the significance of their linguistic connection,
explaining how their ability to converse in their native tongue further
strengthened their bond.

Governor Squadron Leader Diptanshu Gupta, and others also spoke on the
occasion.
