  • DIMAPUR — The farewell programme for the outgoing Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor, Rajesh Soundararajan, was held at Dr. Imkongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan, Kohima, on Thursday.

  • According to an update, in his farewell address, Soundararajan expressed his privilege in serving at Raj Bhavan for nearly two years and reflected on his 13-year journey in Nagaland, emphasising that he is leaving only for a short time and will return.

  • He thanked the governor for the opportunity and trust placed in him, stating that he departs with fond memories.

  • He described the governor as a father figure to all and acknowledged the wisdom he gained from him—lessons that, he said, cannot be found in books or acquired through mere experience. This, he noted, would be his most valuable takeaway.

  • Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the officers and staff of Raj Bhavan for their unwavering support, which enabled him to fulfil his duties diligently.

  • Commending their capability and efficiency, he encouraged them to maintain their high standards and embrace continuous learning, remaining open to change when necessary.

  • The Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, recalled their connection stemming from their shared linguistic background, highlighting the familiarity and understanding that developed between them due to their common roots. The governor emphasised the significance of their linguistic connection, explaining how their ability to converse in their native tongue further strengthened their bond.

  • Joint Secretary to the Governor Mhomo Tungoe, ADC to the Governor Squadron Leader Diptanshu Gupta, and others also spoke on the occasion.
