Dimapur, April 8 (EMN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority has informed that rainfall along with strong winds accompanied by squall and lightning in isolated places is expected in Kohima, Mon, Mokokchung, Zunheboto, Wokha, Longleng, Peren, Phek and Tuensang districts on April 9.
“The maximum temperature will see a dip during this time, settling even below 20°C over the hilly areas. Rains are likely to reduce on 10th and 11th of April but scattered light rains with one or two moderate spells. Very little rain activity is likely during the daytime, with partly cloudy sky.
Weather activities would occur mostly in evening or night. Thus, rains may not hinder the voting process for general elections on 11th April 2019,” it stated in an update issued on Monday.
Heavy rains, it stated, would make a comeback by April 12.
“From 12th to 14th April, 2019, the state can expect another round of fairly widespread moderate to heavy rainfall. These showers would be accompanied by other pre-monsoon activities such as lightning, hailstorm, thunderstorm along with squally winds. Districts such as Kohima, Wokha, Mokokchung, Mon, Longleng, Tuensang, Kiphire and Zunheboto would experience more rainfall activities as compared to other places.”
