The NPCC president disclosed the details of Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the state while addressing a public meeting at Toulazouma village on Wednesday, said a statement issued by Therie's press secretary.

Besides announcing the visit of Rahul, Therie also claimed that “the mood of the nation is against the BJP” and “sought the support of like-minded political parties and sections of society to come together and fight the upcoming election on the issues of protecting secularism and the freedom of religion, opposition to the CAB; and the need for solution to the Naga political issue.”
He said that if given an opportunity at the centre, “Congress will deliver political solution as it has done so in the past” and that it is possible “because Congress has the commitment and has resolved to endeavour to solve the issue through peaceful and Constitutional means.” He also requested the gathering to vote for Congress candidate.
Khekiye K. Sema (IAS) Retd. and former Congress candidate, who also spoke at the function, claimed that CAB will be passed in both the Houses of the Parliament if BJP returns to power. 10th Congress MLA defects to TRS
Hyderabad, March 27 (IANS): The opposition Congress's strength in the Telangana Assembly came down to single digits on Wednesday as its 10th legislator crossed over to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
J. Surender, who represents Yellareddy constituency in Nizamabad district, called on TRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao and announced that he was joining the ruling party.
He said he decided to support Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for the development of his constituency.
Surender is the 10th Congress MLA to defect to the TRS this month.
The TRS, which had bagged 88 seats in 119-member Assembly in the elections held in December, has crossed 100-mark with the defection of 13 MLAs, including one legislator of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and two independents.
The defected legislators of the Congress may request the Assembly Speaker to recognise their merger with the ruling party.
Under the anti-defection law, if two-third of the legislators of a party defects, they will not attract disqualification.
The Congress may even lose the status of main opposition party as it requires 10 percent of the total strength of the House.
