Bollywood actor Rahul Bose has been awarded Cond Nast's Readers' Travel Award (RTA) for this year.
Chairperson and founding member of Dastkar, an NGO, Padma Shri Laila Tyabji was conferred the lifetime achievement award on the occasion for his work with artisans for over 39 years.
CEO of the Partition Museum in Amritsar, Mallika Ahluwalia, designer Anavila Misra and founder of Murty Classical Library of India, Rohan Murty, along with Bose were awarded Excellence Awards for their contribution in their chosen fields.
Economist, civil servant and Padma Vibhushan Montek Singh Ahluwalia presented the award to Murty, while noted Indian designer, art curator and Padma Bhushan, Rajeev Sethi, awarded actor-activist Bose with the Cond Nast Traveller and Volkswagen Passat Excellence Award.
Bose was honoured for his social activism and for using films to put the spotlight on Poorna Malavath, the youngest girl to climb Mount Everest.
The awards were given out at a function here yesterday.
