The Rachü Youth Organization (RYO) Viswema today celebrated its golden jubilee at R. Khel (sector), Viswema under the theme “Honour our Roots; Prepare our Future”.
With the ongoing political developments taking place within the NPF, the chief guest Minister Kiyanilie and guest of honour local MLA Kropol Vitsu could not grace the celebrations but they did send representatives to exhort the gathering on their behalf.Reading out the message of Kiyanilie, his Personal Secretary Lhousarovi Paul stressed on the need for the youths to refrain from unwanted elements while maintaining that in this competitive world one has to pick up the right path to excel in respective fields.
Expressing that youth are the asset and cream of the village, he said that the strength and good conduct of the youth will determine the prestige and prosperity of the village. He urged upon the youth to come forward and contribute towards the welfare and betterment of the villagers.
On behalf of Kropol, Er. Pupaho Vitsu urged upon the youth to concentrate on practical rather than tall talk on any issue. He also lauded the RYO for its unity and loyalty in all respects and called upon them to continue to carry on such good legacy and pass to the younger generation to follow the suit.
Chief host of the celebration and former Congress minister, K.V. Pusa said that the khel has population of around three thousand, having over 1000 matriculates and 500 graduates and above and around 80 officers at present.
Stating that jubilee is a time to forgive and forget the past misconduct of each other if any, he called upon the people to take this jubilee as an opportune perform to increase the volume of friendship and oneness.
Ex-speaker Nagaland Legislative Assembly Zhovehu Lohe who was also present on the occasion released a book on Angami traditional attires and ancestral tools printed and published in memory of first RYO chairman Vihoto Sothu by his children.
Compered by Abei Theyo and Puvito Neikha, the programme commenced with invocation with Pator of Viswema Baptist Church Rev. Atha Neikha pronouncing the invocation. Convener planning-cum-organizing committee Khriipi Sothu tendered the welcome address while RYO president Kropo Neikha tendered vote of thanks.
Vihosiinii Lcho, Vi-eyol Kweho & party, Mejokhriile Noswe & party and youth from Sabraba village performed folk songs. Vil Pusa was pianist and benediction was pronounced by Associate Pastor NCRC Kohima Medochol Sothu.
Meanwhile, Meyiekul Noswe has been elected as the new president of RYO for the tenure 2015-18. Representatives from 23 organisations from various parts of the state including Manipur also attended the celebrations.
