Dimapur, Nov.4 (EMN): A programme for distribution of rabi seeds and to impart new scientific method of farming for farmers of Longleng and Sakshi blocks was held at DAO (Agri) office in Longleng town on November 2.
A press release issued by DPRO Longleng informed that the deputy commissioner of Longleng, M Shayung Phom, who was also the chief guest of the programme, stated that ‘farmers who attended the distribution programme should be aware that they are representing their respective village and therefore they should impart the same knowledge and ideas of farming technology back to their village’.
He asserted that such programmes would benefit farmers by making them aware of new scientific method of farming and high-yielding seeds for more production. He also encouraged the farmers to "avail the opportunity and know the rights and various schemes of the farmers from the resource persons and also clarify their doubts."
