
Dimapur, June 3 (EMN): Indira Gandhi Stadium, one of the designated quarantine centres in Kohima, will be operational from June 4. Rennovation work at the multipurpose hall and badminton court at the stadium has been going on since May 27 to be converted to temporary quarantine centres.
According to an update from DIPR, the quarantine centre has been divided into cubicles, which will be able to accommodate about 470 people. Facilities such as lavatories, electricity and running water are put in place.
The district task force will take the charges for maintenance and streamline returnees from different states at the quarantine centre while churches will be managing 'common kitchen’ to help cater to the needs of the people at the centre.
The Kohima administration has issued terms and conditions for the permitted paid quarantine centres — Hotel Vivor, Hotel De-oriental Grand, Hotel Eastgate, Hotel Lavisto, Hotel Millennium, Hotel Grandeur, and Hotel Holiday Oki.
The paid quarantine centres have been directed to strictly follow standard operating procedures laid down by the office of chief medical officer, Kohima and advisory issued by the principal director of Health and Family Welfare.
A committee to oversee all matters relating to paid quarantine centres under Kohima has been constituted with Kohima SDO(C) Sadar, Longasen Lotha as convenor and Deputy CMO Dr. Hoito Sema, EAC I Changsang, convenor of the management team, Kohima Hotels and Restaurants Union, Khriezo Suokhrie and member of management team, Pelevotuo Solo as member.
